Finally...Time to Reveal the Hallway!
It is HOT here...I mean like 116 degrees.
But the good thing about our extreme summer heat is I am forced inside and I can work on
all those home project/ideas that I have been meaning to get to all year long.
Here is the first of many interior projects I am working on.
BEFORE
(This isn't the best photo but here on the Boho Farm we don't have a great camera...a girl can dream)
AFTER
With a little paint, $30 of stock wood moulding from Home Depot, caulk
and a hand miter saw. I did this all on my own and it was really easy.
I am now making wainscoting in the kitchen...
will post more on this later in the summer.
We are in the middle of a kitchen face lift.
Found these sconces for $12 a pair and that is the original finish.
I spent more on the lamp shades!
Here is a detail of the mouldings--another awful photo but you get the idea.
Here is the inspiration for this project...I took these three years ago when we were in Paris.
See other people take pictures of the Mona Lisa or the Eiffel Tower, not me,
I travel the world and take pictures of bathrooms, mouldings, garden plantings,
lighting and plumbing fixtures, tile work, etc...interesting design elements.
I know it's weird, but my 14 year old daughter has caught it too,
she just posted a sink onto her facebook and it made me smile.
I always know I wanted to do this somewhere in our home
and I finally found the right spot.
The room is a mess, we brought our kids with us, need I say more?
I loved all the layers of mouldings, the crown with the picture moulding above and below.
I am going to use that idea too.
This was our room at the Hotel West End in Paris.
It is our hotel that we have stayed in for almost 20 years of visiting Paris,
we love it's quaint size, location and it can fit a pack and play....which is huge in Europe.
Just enjoying the summer!
