I'm here but...

We have been swamped.  Between farm to table dinners, flea markets, farmers markets,

classes, finishing up our residential design clients before the holidays, photo shoots 

and running the kids around town.  I have had hardly any time to sit in front of the computer,

because I am old school and have a desk top, that is literally what I have to do

around here to write a blog post.

(I am hoping the farm fairy will bring me a laptop for Christmas...oh and two milking goats too.)

So, I am here, alive and well and thought I would update you on all I've got going on!

We have ventured out into a new area of animal husbandry...

My husband and I are raising Poulet Rouge birds and they will be

"processed" the week between Christmas and New Years.

This is a new frontier for us but being foodies and locavores, it is a natural progression

and I want to know and respect the preciousness of life that these animals give for us. 

With this understanding we do not want to waste any part of the bird but use all parts.

This is something that is missing in American culture with it's huge Frankenchicken breasts or

worst yet, Mc Nuggets...knowing from where our meat comes. 

We don't know if this will be a lifestyle or a one time thing but I am conquering my

fear and if the worst does come, I will be able to "process" an animal like my grandma.

We had a full Marmalade Making class on Saturday and one of the best parts was a

blog readers from Chicago just happened to be in Phoenix

visiting her family and she came for the class!

How fun is that? This is the part that amazes me about having a blog.

The world becomes smaller...

My husband's big 50th Jubilee Birthday Celebration is coming up in two weeks

and I am trying to pull that together.

We are again participating in the Phoenix's 3rd Annual Tour De Coops

on December 3rd, tickets here. 

So we are getting everything tour ready.

On Sunday, Dec 4 from 10am to 2pm (yes, the day after the Tour de Coops)

 we are part of theEdible Arcadia Tour . 

Tickets sell out fast!

Our dear friend Shauna over at JAM in Scottsdale is having a rustic couture farmers market

the first Thursday of the month and Boho Farm will be there!  The next one is Dec. 1st.

This would be the perfect spot to pick up all your holiday gifts and best of all

it's local... let's support our community artists and farmers.
